Bangkok bustle
Bangkok never seems to stop. It is a city full of energy and life, something interesting around every corner, smiles and greetings wherever we went. I love the smell of cooking on the street, the thousands of market stalls, roads full of jelly-bean coloured taxis and ancient buses, tuk tuks and bikes, shopping that goes on forever, a skyline I could stare at for hours. We were fortunate to be staying in an apartment on the 22nd floor with a view of the city in all directions, and it was wonderful to watch the action from above. I adore Bangkok and am already looking forward to returning. M x

Just another day in paradise
Tropical sun. hot sand burning feet. powder soft. chameleon water, every shade of blue and green and grey. so warm. fishing boats, canoes and jet skis. palm trees. hawkers selling their wares. digging in the sand. little creatures in their shells. running and splashing. postcard perfect. light a lantern for good fortune. a piece of heaven. Lost in her eyes
Sometimes I see a misty dark blue, other times a sea green, hints of caramel, and gold… I took this photo in our hotel room in Koh Samui, and it’s one of my favourites from our trip. Those beautiful eyes, looking at me. M x

Samui streets
The streets of Thailand are endlessly interesting to me. I must have walked the main street of Chaweng Beach at least twice each day, and I always saw something new, noticed something different. Day to night is like black to white. The streets come to life with market stalls, performers, and shop keepers asking for the 7th time if you’d like a suit, or a massaaage madam! I love it all. The grittiness, the impossible nests of powerlines, the unidentifiable food, handicrafts and imitation everything. I hope you enjoy these holiday shots of the Samui streets. M x
Daytime…
The night…
And in the middle of all the craziness, there is beauty…

Daddy daughter
My heart always melts a little when I see my husband and daughter together. So after going through my holiday photos tonight, I couldn’t resist sharing these with you. People have always commented on how much they look alike, and I can certainly see that here. Sophia shares his love of the outdoors, his athleticism, his courage and his strength, and he adores her. My two loves…

Samui love
We arrived home today from our wonderful Thailand holiday. It was everything I had hoped it would be, and as much as it’s lovely to see home again, I would have been just as happy to stay in Samui. What a beautiful piece of heaven it is!
I have missed you all, and I have so many stories to tell. It will take me a little time to go through all the photos I have, and I hope to share them with you here over the coming days as I do so. In the meantime, there is this – a perfect summary of how I feel about our travels. M x

Travelling
I have spent all day packing. It still amazes me just how much one little 2 year old girl needs in her suitcase! We’re flying to Thailand for a much-needed family holiday. It will be Sophia’s second overseas trip, and her longest flight so far. I can’t say I’m not nervous about that part! My husband and I have been to the ‘Land of Smiles’ twice before, and came home engaged after our last visit. It will be wonderful to be there again. I’ll be sure to update you all with photos from our trip upon my return. Until then, I’ll leave you with some photos of Sophia in her bubble bath, getting ready for this big adventure… M x

Daylesford colours
I spent the weekend in Daylesford with some lovely girlfriends. What a beautiful time of the year to be in such a gorgeous place! Autumn had really turned on the colour and we were greeted by shades of red, orange, brown, gold and green at every turn. I want to share some of that beauty with you here. It was absolutely breathtaking and I felt as if I was walking through a postcard! Enjoy… M x
